L.O. Learn the spelling, pronunciation and meanings of 7 new vocabulary words related to Unit 2.
INTRODUCTION
Show students each word with its picture, ask for its meaning in Arabic then the teacher says it in English, you may ask the students to repeat the words as a whole class or/and as individuals, you could also ask them to take turns to act it out. (PowerPoint if the projector is available)
Place each word on the board with blue tac for students to refer to throughout the lesson.
PRACTICE:
Students take 5 minutes to complete each learning centre and then rotate to the next.
between rotations, students need to wipe their answers and prepare the activity for the next group.
LC1- Listening- Jamal’s Holiday. Students fill in the gaps with the new vocabulary.
LC2- Word shapes- Students identify the correct spelling for each word shape.
LC3- Matching- Word/ translation/ example.
EVALUATION:
We refer back to the words on the board students put their hands up if they feel confident about reading and explaining the words.
